Buffy Thoughts

Well my poll gave some interesting results, thank you so much for taking it! Ok, so more people on my flist are interested in Angel Season Six, than Buffy Season Eight (love you). While the considering Comics as canon was even, pretty much 50-50. Which may mean that any stories using the comic canon would have limited appeal. Then have to say that with the two comics I have just now, not inspired to do any fic from it.


Is Amy the Big Bad, I really don’t think so. I truly believe the season eight Big Bad’s will be the army guys with their “Beautiful Sunset” signs scarred onto their chests. Too much like season four, The Initiative. Well maybe, but Season One and Season Two it was vampires, so been done before. A favourite character becoming evil, done twice. Joss has used the same storyline before.



We get introduced to lots of new characters in Spike:Asylum. They are build up from the first group meeting, and be begin to care about their past, and motivations.

We get introduced to a group of young slayers in Buffy Season Eight. Thrown right in the thick of it. Do we care if they all got killed except Buffy......well no.

Indroducing a new character(s) needs some ground work for us to care about them, some background. Take the young slayers in Season Seven. The only one I cared a fig for was Amanda, because I knew a little of her background before we knew she was a slayer. The others just turned up expecting Buffy to protect and feed them, and a lot of ungratful bitches they were too.



Are the creatures on Buffy scary, shocking or Oh Hum. I only really thought two were scary. The Gentlemen, and Gnarl. What made them scary for me was the manner they killed people, aware, feeling, but unable to fight back or cry for help. And how they kill. Cutting peoples hearts out, or even worse frayed alive. Shudder.

The others, more shocking. Angelus killing Jenny, the dispassionate killing of humans by vampires. Scrambling minds. Biggest shock would be Celeb taking Xander’s eye out! Yes that was quite a shock, but not horror stuff.

Oh Hum…..quite a few. Top of which was The First. Oh his power was shock value of looking like departed loved ones, and manipulating people. Causing death by suicide. Still pretty Oh Hum to me. All bark and no bite.

This is totally off-topic and has nothing at all to do with your post, but I've been fiddling around with my journal - again - today, and I was looking for a pale blue and couldn't find one I liked. When you have a minute, could you check your journal colors and tel me the code numbers for *this* color blue? It seems to be just a tiny bit bluer than the one I'm currently using. Thanks.

Thanks so much! It's just a touch more blue than the one I was using and looks better with the bluish-purple colors I did the rest in.
