The Words Meme
Reply to this post with "WORDS!" and I will give you five random words I associate with you, and you must elaborate on them. Post this in your own journal along with your answers.
So Jamie gave me:-
LiveJournal - BtVS - Spike - Supernatural - True Love
Livejournal
Well, really I was here for fandom reasons. I found out an author I really liked had a friends locked journal, and the only way I could see her entries was to get an account. I did, then found out that there were no stories there, but went off and friended all my favourite Spike authors. I went on to find the artwork, and friended artists as well.
Basically at that time, Livejournal was all about Spike at my journal, in fact I might go so far as to say Spangel. Livejournal broadened my horizons, while it was still all about Spike, I ventured into other pairings. Now I've ventured into other fandoms as well.
It got me writing, thinking about things, and introduced me to people from all over the world as well.
BtVS
AH, BtVS. I tired to get into it when it first started on BBC2. I really really tried. I watched some of season one, I might even have got through a few episodes without channel hopping. It annoyed me. The High School set up didn't appeal, I thought the vampire slayer in love with a vampire was corny. Nothing seems all that original to me. In fact most of it seemed quite the cliched to me. I gave up.
I tried in other seasons to pick it up, and always ended up switching to another channel. I watched AtS, and loved it, but Buffy always left me cold.
Ronnie went on about it, so when it was finishing I watched the last 5 episodes just to see how it ended. I loved Spike, just couldn't get enough of him. I watched all of season seven uncut, and was hooked.
I hadn't had enough. I went online looking for more. I found fandom, fanfiction, fanart, I bought the boxed set, and here I am, on line in fandom, and totally addicted. All because I couldn't get enough Spike.
Spike
Ah what to say about Spike. He is the reason I'm in fandom. I love him evil, hate how he is treated when he is chipped, and love him with a soul. I really don't think you can love Spike and not love James Marsters, but I know many do. While I still love Spike, I'm more of a James Marsters fan now. I'm no longer involved in the Spike fandom like I used to be, but I'm so thankful for him for introducing me to all the lovely people I've met on the way.
Supernatural
I fell in love with this programme from the pilot, and still do. Not really an awful lot to say about it. Sam girl, but still really like Dean, like the interaction between the brothers. Don't read any fanfiction based on the characters.
I'm still evolving with the show, so I do think about it a bit, and love J2 AU fanfiction. I also enjoy discussing the show with Ronnie, and on livejournal.
True Love
I'm a bit surprised that I'm associated with that. I guess it is because I'm still so attatched to Michael, and talk about him, but in real life I come across as maybe lacking emotion, indeed quite detached. I remember Michael asking me why I married him, and wouldn't believe it was because I loved him, so I'm not sure that is quite me.
It certainly never was before I met Michael when I was 25 anyway. I would go out with boys, but pretty soon got bored with them, or found some glaring fault and broke up with them. I was always better at being a friend to my male pals than a romantic interest. I never trusted good looking guys, never encouraged anyone I had a crush on, as that was too much like lust. In fact mostly I was accussed of letting my head rule my heart.
Oh well that is it.
