Michael

I realised that I still talk about Michael quite a lot, and wondered if you wanted to see some pictures of him....anyway I am posting them, so even if you are screaming NO! They are behind a cut, so you can skip!

This was taken about 20 years ago, how time flies, on a day out to the Lake of Menteith. The only Lake in Scotland. All the others are Lochs.

Why yes, he is tall, thin, and has lovely long artistic sensitive hands!

Gonna go off and have some food now!

Edit, the guy in the icon? That is Frank, an ex-workmate from when I worked at Glasgow University

Oh thank you, I love living in Scotland, well most of the time! A loch is a lake, technically, but we are proud to call them Lochs, and get upset when people call them lakes.....a Scottish thing I guess!

It's not a Scottish thing trust me. I'm a firm believer in calling things by their proper name. That's why before I travel I try to learn a little bit about the culture so this way I don't insult anyone or come off rude. :D

Oh yes, excellent idea! I like to get to know other cultures myself. They are very interesting. I also love history as well!

OMG I love history!! And I think that's why I love the UK so much. There is just amazing history and architecture there. There was a 3 part series on public television here in the states and it was all about the Royal Family and the events that go on at Windsor Castle through the seasons. I was totally addicted!

Where I live, Dumbarton, we had a castle. It dates right back, and is fortified. Sits on Dumbarton Rock, and Mary Queen of Scots stayed there before she was taken to France for safety. Then there is almost no-where that doesn't have some Mary Queen of Scots conections.

On the Lake of Menteath, there is a ruined Abbey that you can take a boat over to (it is lovely, the island has a feeling of quiet and serenity about it) and take a walk and/or explore the ruins!
