During Magic Spot
Sam fought on, day in day out. His only contact was Bobby. Every day he searched for the most dangerous work he could do, looking for a trace of the Trickster, dreaming about what he would do to him. Of course he was a demi-god, and Sam tried to find ways to destroy him, but nothing appeared on his searches.
He saw himself cut him, hurt him, make him bleed. Slash him with a whip for every time Dean died before his eyes. Make him beg to die for letting him think it was all over, only for Dean to be shot the next day. The emotions he had been put through, the pain. Waking up that day, after his nightmare groundhog days, the relief flooding through him at seeing Dean safe, thinking that it was over, they could leave together.
The despair when he heard the gun-shot. He had closed his eyes, waiting to wake up back in the bed, with Dean alive. Then when it didn’t work, the pain in his heart. They had so little time to get Dean out of his contract, and now it was all too late. Dean was dead, and Sam was determined to make him pay. If not with his life, because he couldn’t find a way to kill him, then in pain. Sam had nothing left to lose anymore. Maybe torturing a Demi-God would not go down well in hell, but at Dean’s side they could make some of them suffer.
Every day he looked for the nests of vampires, the demons, anything that he could hunt, the assignments that were so dangerous that other hunters would avoid them. Sam was there.
If he couldn’t get the Trickster, he would take save as many people as he could. Until he could be with Dean again.
