Another damn Wincester Plot Bunny I can't get rid of

I have another damn Wincester plot bunny, there is no explicit porn, but dealing with the aftermath.

Dean is 18 and Sam is 14 when they are staying at Bobby's, Bobby finds out they are having sex, and the next day, after breakfast, tackled Dean about it.

He asks how long it has been going on, and Dean says since he was 14. Bobby is shocked to know that Dean has been doing this to Sam since Sam was 10. Dean explains that he was at a sex education class and the teacher said that he should only have sex with someone he loved.

Bobby tells Dean he has to let John know what is going on. Dean knows that John will not be pleased, but Sam overhears them and tells Bobby it isn't Dean's fault, he is the one tempting Dean. That Dean shouldn't be blamed

Bobby goes to reseach abused children, and finds that many do take the blame themselves.

In the end Bobby tells John, who totally loses it with Dean, while Sam tries to protect Dean, taking the blame himself. John takes Sam to a therapist to find out why he would blame himself, at the same time he also takes Dean.

Is this to dark and angst ridden?

It is very dark and touches on some heavily brutal and strange themes.

However... Knowing the boys history I can understand it completely, what happens between them and am aware, professionally, where similar things have gone on and continue to go on. I would totally have accepted this in my mind I suppose had I traced back to when they started out as lovers. However to read it takes me back a little bit.

It's good, I think a little too honest though and scary and most people will run rather than like this sort of thing and that is not to say I don't like it cos I do.

But it will freak out a lot of people this. It's very dark and touched on a very dark and taboo subject, incest is one thing... 10 and 14 and even 18 and 14 might freak readers out.

I cant see a lot of people leaving comments to this post.

However I think how you traced it back to when it began is highly realistic.

I think it needs a better writer than myself to really do it justice. Then I also think it is an issue with the whole incest thing that needs to be explored. In the fandom it is treated far too lightly, and as a kink. The whole serious issues attached are overlooked a lot.

Will have to think about it.

I think the lack of comments to this post indicates that not many people would be happy, or comfortable with the topic.

I think, as you said, most people like it as a slight kink and don't like the notion or reality of what incest would actually mean. Not that they're wrong really, it's natural to feel repelled by the reality of it. I can understand their reaction at not wanting to face it.

Yes, I find the double standards of what the reality is, and the Dirty!Bad!Wrong kink a bit of a turn off myself. I think it lets the fandom down.

I can take it with vampires, they have a different, or maybe non-existant moral standard, but make me uneasy with humans in fanfic

I think people find it easier to assume this started when the boys were in their 20's and utterly and completely consensual and was a very informed and adult choice.

Truth is, incest just doesn't start this way and the boys only ever had one another and no socialisation when growing up did they?

So when their parts started working, they were both very young and stuck together for days on end in hotel rooms and this is more than likely when it started.

Yes Jamie, and it is unrealistic. They really didn't stay round long enough anywhere to start a relationship with a girl (or boy it that was their preference). This would lead to young minds turning to each other. It was a false situation, which could lead to an unusual relationship.

PS: For the record, I would read this if you wrote it as a fic.

Thank You Jamie, you are stella!
