Moan!

I just don't see the point of Twitter, and I really don't see the point of posting it to your LJ journal. It is like a one sided conversation taking place on your friends list. As annoying as someone using a moble phone within earshot. I had no idea of the context that the whole twitter is in.

Its fine if you use an lj-cut, that way I can just pass by.

I guess I just will not be twittering at all. No matter what celebs I might be able to be friended to. I've done the whole joining things because it is popular or because LJ has some issue. I joined MySpace, and used it for a week, got a greatest journal, which I deleted, but have heard it has gone down, and now have insane journal, which I never use. Unless something happens to LJ.

Never got a facebook, and don't intend to get a Twitter either. LJ is my home.

.................

I'm really looking forward to Sunday and the responses to the challenge. I think there will be some great reading/viewing. I do have an idea myself! Whoo Hoo! Thank You whomever, I can take part in my own challenge

...........

Went to bed early, so of course I'm up early. Why is it when the really good dreams get to the Really Really good bit, you wake up?

........
OMG, OMG, OMG! I let Ronnie borrow my "Good Omens". Scream! I'm without my book!

I had been raving to him about it, and left it on the couch, next to where he sat down. He picked it up, and had a glance through it. *Deep Breath*, it's ok. It is Ronnie, you have let him borrow books before and got them back just as you gave them to him. He always gives them back!

*Panics*

.......

Another Edit! Oh Ronnie and David watchng "You're Welcome" and "Fresh Blood". Well Ronnie loved them both, but David found "You're Welcome" too difficult to follow, and went off to the garage to get a quote. He asked when we were going to have something to eat, and came back five minutes before we did, missing both episodes.

He did recognise Spike in You're Welcome, but didn't remember his name! *head desk*

I heartily agree. I do not get the idea of posting twits to LJ. They are annoying me more and more as more of my friends are doing it. In fact one night a few weeks ago I wrote out an entry basically saying.... "filter me out of your twitter posts". And then didn't post it because I was afraid I'd come off sounding bitchy.

But I'm glad it's not just me.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'm finding myself more and more annoyed with it! *sigh*. It is not as if anything posted interests me enough to even ask about it.

Then I also suspect it will be a fad, but an annoying one while it lasts!

Good that we are not alone!

[identity profile] moon-chylde.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind the short ones, they're quick to scoll by, but some of my friends are getting longer and longer. And if they'd just put them behind a cut, then fine. No problem.

But yes. It's the new fad so it's gonna spread like wildfire for a while.

Ugh

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
I really don't mind if they are behind a cut, that way a quick scroll past and I don't even notice them. But the long exposed ones get to me.

I hope it passes soon, but a bit worried as it has been on the news here. So that has raised awareness of it! Of course being friended to Celebs and interacting with them, even in such a minor way, is attractive to some.

Grrrr Aggg!

As annoying as someone using a moble phone within earshot. I had no idea of the context that the whole twitter is in. I completely agree. I don't get the need for little popcorn communications of 145 words or whatever it is. Really, what is the point. Is it some sort of behavioural stimulus/response? Press a button and get a pellet of response from someone? Little addictive rewards that someone's paying attention though there's no real content to the communication, just a little reward buzz of attention.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
I know. There is no substance to it at all. Just spamming little titbits of nothing out there, waiting for someone to react and give you a response. It just doesn't appeal to me at all!

[identity profile] moon-chylde.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
But really it's no different from being friends with actors and such on MySpace. You interact but don't, really. I have several of my very favorite actors as friends on MySpace.

I don't see it passing soon, but I am ready to put my foot down about cuts if it comes to the point where my flist is overrun with them (which is coming close, actually).

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thinking I need to do the same with cuts. I'm not thinking of defriending anyone because of it, but I am getting a little annoyed with them.

I only have JL friended at Myspace. Most of the actors I would be inticed by don't do that at all. I guess I should have CK, but never got round to it.

I guess I'll have to hope for the best!

[identity profile] thebiggest-lie.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
I am completely with you on the twitter thing. I don't see the point, and it pisses me off when people continuously post it in their journal, like it is going to mean something to the rest of us.

LJ is my home as well. :D No myspace or facebook for me.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
I know, and as more and more people use it, the more annoying those posts are! *sigh*

Nope I'm not going to be one joining at all! LJ all the way!

[identity profile] kimalis.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
I love my LJs, they are top of my list.
I am really beginning to like my Facebook, not as much as LJ though.
I use Twitter but at the request of, and only for, one person.
But....I cannot see any point in posting the tweets to your LJ. They make no sense, they are very very short and ...well..they just make no sense.

Its bloody annoying to see on your flist and yeah, they are getting longer.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, it is the longer ones that really bother me when I'm scrolling past. I'm beginning to think I'll never get to the end of them! I really don't mind if they are behind a cut, that is different!

I guess I'm just sticking to LJ myself!

[identity profile] jude-91.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
Good Omens is such a good book!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
It is a great favourite of mine, and one I reread often! *sigh* I miss it already!

[identity profile] exuberantself.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
I don't get Twitter, I hate Facebook, MySpace hates me...if not for LJ, I might have to make friends with people I've actually met.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
I know, and that would be sheer Hell!

[identity profile] exuberantself.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I could handle it. They might want me to hang out or something. ...on the other hand, I might actually have someone to see movies with. Hmm...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
But do they ever want to see the same movies as you?

[identity profile] exuberantself.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well, no, not the ones I have. I'm seriously considering borrowing a friend's fiance for the Star Trek opening. The good news is that she's not going to be offended because she hates his taste in movies.

All I want is a horror movie friend who doesn't live in freakin' Texas!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
You would think it was easy, but it never is! *shakes head*

[identity profile] exuberantself.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's true!

I agree about Twitter - thank goodness my flist are sensible enough to cut their twitterings!!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/woman_of_/ 2009-03-07 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't mind that. I can easily just scroll down and ignore. It is the ones who post a long list outside a cut!

[identity profile] petzipellepingo.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 09:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I have about enough time for LJ - anything else is just shiny and new and I don't need more toys in my life.
