Reading Writing Habits
Sorry for all the posts, but I was chatting to someone in comments, and it got me wondering about some things. Hence the Poll, you all know what I am like by now. I am addicted to my polls!

I don't mind AU for the 'verse, but I like the characters to be close to cannon I think.
My absolute favourite fics are the ones that are little 'missing scenes' of the original story arcs.

Oh the missing scenes can be good. Great to see anothers take on it!

I am absolutely a closed canon writer, and couldn't possibly write in an open canon - but I will read it. As long as it's a show I'm not overly invested in.
I've never read a human AU - but I probably would, if a writer I trusted posted one. It's more a lack of finding them than any particular hatred for the concept.
And yeah, generally, I react to RPS by running the other way. But earlier this year I read the RPS spuffyduds wrote (which was also a WIP - another thing I tend to avoid), and loved it.
I think my rule there would be that I can only read RPS if I don't really know much about the actors. If I've seen them in too many shows, or if I know too much about their real lives, I revert back to running and hiding...

Hrm. Sounds intriguing. What was it called and where can we find it?

Callum Keith Rennie (who's an actor, and played one of the cylons in BSG, among other things), and Hugh Dillon (who's apparently a musician.
