I didn't answer the second question because none of the answers quite fit me - I think the writing has been uneven, with some of the single issues or arcs very good, but the overall story seeming to lack direction until recently. I've decided that I'll wait till it's over, and then if it seems worth it, I'll buy the graphic novel collections.
Yes, there have been some quite good ones, but overall I feel it is quite poor myself!
From the others Joss had done Fray, Tales of the Slayers and Tales of the Vampires, I think it might've benifited from a whole new cast, rather than trying to use the original Buffy characters. We mostly have such strong opinions of them already. Not quite sure it is working in the comic!
