I chose "it started off good, and has got worse" for the writing - but, to clarify, it was never all that good. It's just that it seems to keep declining in quality, so it started off much better than it is now...

I didn't answer some of the questions - and my answers to others probably aren't worth much. I get the comics, I read them, but I'm not a comic person, so I don't have strong opinions on the art or writing because I don't know what is considered "good" in the genre. I find it difficult to follow sometimes (both the storyline and the panels). I'm still buying them, and probably will continue to do so, but really just so I know what's happening in the new "season". Not because I really enjoy them very often. (Although I loved Dracula when he stood up and reminded them of who he used to be. LOL "The vampire is the least of your worries...")

I didn't answer the last one. I can see myself buying *some* issues but not all of them. I've gotten to the *meh* point.

They've gotten better, though that's partly because I've given up on expecting them to follow the TV series and just take them for what they are.

And at least when Allie interacts with fans, he does so from up in his office, so to speak; everybody, including himself, knows what his position is and he doesn't try to be too chummy. Whereas Lynch's tendency to fish for compliments and then get snippy when he doesn't get it annoys me a bit. (I liked Jeanty's recent comment, though: "When I first got the gig I couldn't understand why they wanted me." Truth will out.)

I didn't answer the second question because none of the answers quite fit me - I think the writing has been uneven, with some of the single issues or arcs very good, but the overall story seeming to lack direction until recently. I've decided that I'll wait till it's over, and then if it seems worth it, I'll buy the graphic novel collections.

Sorry to hear that ATF wasn't your cup of tea. As for BTVS well I never brought it but I have read it through varies means (no I haven't downloaded it and can't be bothered to.)

Ever since the previews for it I got bad vibes and it really doesn't connect well with the show IMHO. Not the things that loved about it anyway.

Here via [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003.

I have to point out two things, the answer to question one is "I had no intention of buying it" because is very expensive to ship them to my country or my local comics store don't have them and in order to get them for me they would charge ridiculous amounts of money. Otherwise I would've given them a chance.

The last question, my answer was "Nothing would make me buy the comics" because is the closest to the situation I'm in. I would give them a chance of I would like the characters and the plot and they were affordable in my little corner of the world.

I hope I made sense.

I'm reading (with gritted teeth) mostly because I write lots of my stories by weaving with canon and want to at least know what Joss and Co. are considering canon in the comics. So far I haven't found inspiration for anything other than ignoring the entire mess but you never know.

Some of my answers were more "none of the above." I don't think it's a good continuation of the franchise, but, just like I bought most of the old run of crappy Buffy comics, I'd still buy them for the $4/month "LOL this is so bad" experience.

I've liked some bits from some of the issuesj, and I think I might know where they're going with some of the seemingly crappy things, so I'm letting a lot of things slide until I can see if I'm right. I just hope things start to make some sense before too long. The pace of comic books just doesn't allow the sort of plotting that the series had, because instead of keeping us in suspense for a few weeks, it becomes YEARS, and by then even Joss has probably forgotten where he was headed.

About the writing never having been good. Not entirly true, there are some good episodes, but most of it was mediocre and there is no overall improvement.

About the art jeanty is bad, the guest artists are ok and jo chen is a goddess.

I think comics are a good way to continue in general if you make them a little bit better like say after the fall.

Honestly, it wasn't that good in the first place and it seems to be getting worse. I did buy "Wolves At the Gate" for the one sided Xacula but that's it so far. However, I do plan to eventually buy the ones by Brian K. Vaughn. His Faith and Giles stories seem much more interesting.
