I should probably say that to me, calling something "fan-fiction" isn't pejorative, so I wasn't criticising AtF when I said that's what it felt like. ('Felt like', not 'is', of course, because it's pro-fic, and canon pro-fic at that.) But perhaps it was the wrong expression to use, given the associations many people make of it...
