I watch Doctor Who religiously (but only as it airs here in the US so I'm always a few weeks behind my flist!) but then again I watch as much British television as humanly possible through BBC America, DVD purchases and downloading.
I love the fact that your actors look like real people. I love the fact that, since the BBC is partly(?) funded by the gov't, it seems it's not always in search of the highest monetary return and can instead focus on good writing, acting, and original ideas.
So it's not all about Dr Who fandom as it is about being an obssessive Anglophile.
And I adores me some Donna. She is by far my favorite companion, but I knew she would be ever since I saw the YouTube clip of David Tennant's appearance on the Catherine Tate show.
And I also agree wholeheartedly about the price of the DVDs. I don't expect US pricing when it comes to BBC DVDs, but Doctor who is insanely more expensive than my Wire in the Blood and Second Sight DVDs were.
