I don't really have too many don'ts. I have a couple of characters I am not crazy about. If I enjoy the story and like the talent of the writer, I can read just about anything. I love when writers fill in or expand scenes. Joss and his writers left gaping holes and subtext for us to use. I'm not too crazy about stories of rewriting episodes just to switch the characters around. Not big on making Buffy a vampire and Spike a slayer sort of thing unless it has really good writing. Just putting character A in character B's slot so B can be in A's doesn't do it for me. There has to be more than just switching them. Getting into the mind of the character is more important for me if the story is going to stay close to canon. I do love all human stories as well as canon. What I try to write is either just a bit of fun in a moment or the emotion of the scene.
