Buffy Season Eight, Issue Two.

Been reading loads of stuff about the Season Eight comics today. Wasn't going to make a post myself, but as I went round the place reading stuff, I thought some people seemed to lose sight of what Joss is like, and the commercial situation is with using certain characters.


Ok everyone sees Angel and especially Spike everywhere, which maybe deliberate. They can be teases. But although Dark Horse said that Angel and Spike are Joss!verse characters and he can use them if he wanted, Joss himself has said that he is happy with what IDW are doing with the characters, and doesn't want to upset the situation with them. Which I believe if he really wants to get involved with a Season 6 Angel with IDW. He also said that he would only use Angel and Spike sparingly. My own thoughts are that it is too early to see either of them in Season 8.

All the Bander shippers seem to have come out of the closet, waving a victory flag, and telling us how perfect Buffy and Xander are for each other, and after all this time of being friends they should realise how good they would be for each other. Not going to happen, at least no yet. Joss is about the Angst and heartache, we are not going to get happy couples this early on in Season 8. If Buffy ever found her true love and went off to play happy families with him, it wouldn't be until after Joss says that he has nothing left to say in BtVS, and if it was Angel, then AtS as well. Happy Ever Afters do not work, it is the death keel for a story line.

So my take on who will give Buffy the kiss......Dawn, and it will not be shippy, but family love that will save her, and aid to start to heal the breach between Buffy and Dawn!

Heh, great minds and all that...

When the synopsis came out, and all the theories first started flying around like paper aeroplanes, I put my money on it being Dawn, too!

Yes I think Joss is just playing with the shippers, and will pull something else out of the hat. Can't always second guess Joss, but that is the joy of BtVS and AtS.

Then he might still want to watch one lot of shippers arguing with another, while he sits back and laughs.....wouldn't put it past him!

Still it is fun speculating!

Yeah, I actually like the Dawn idea myself.

But she's so huge that as she bends to kiss Buffy on the forehead, she trips and crushes Buffy to death! (I make my own fun.)

My own thought was that she bends down to kiss her, but her lips are so big, she nearly suffocates Buffy!
