The Lazerus Experiment

Well an OK episode. We are back in Matha's present day, and her family get a look in. Her sister Trish is now the head of the PR department of Lazerus, and has put together a banquet for the latest project's unveiling.

Mark Gatias is Lazerus, a 76 year old scientist, who is all set to show the world his life changing project The Genetic Manipulation Device. Stepping into the machine, with lots of shiny buttons and wires, it starts to look like it might explode, but of course the Doctor is there to save everyone.

Lazerus emerges, young again. Much to everyone's astonishment. Of course the Doctor knows these things have consequences, and pretty soon we see what they are.

Lazerus' DNA is fluctuation, turning him into giant insect (special effects here not good), who drains the life essence from everyone, leaving a dry husk. Nods to The Fly.

Matha and the Doctor defeat him, only for Lazerus to make his escape to The Cathedrial (nod to The Quatermass Experiment), where Matha and Trich lead him up to the bell tower, and the doctor finally defeats him with some Beethoven.

A mysterious man tells Matha's mom, Francine the Doctor is dangerous. While Matha makes a stand, refusing to go on one final juant with the Doctor, but become a more perminate partner. Just as they take off in the Tardis, we hear Matha's Mom make a frantic plea to leave the Doctor, in case she gets killed.
