Blown Away!

I ended up watching/listening to more TV tonight with David here than usual. "Dr Who", "The Culture Show" and "Seven Ages of Rock".
"Seven Ages of Rock" just blew me away with fantastic music. It focused on Jimi Hendrix.....Just Wow!
So music from Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, Blues Legends, and The Beatles. Not forgetting Bob Dylan. Wow I wish I had burned off a copy!
The Star Spangled Banner covered by Hendrix, the whole feel of the mid to late sixties. Energy, creativeness, originality, all there. Mind still back at those days (I was from 0-9 in the sixties), when I watched the news astounded and mismerised at what was going on.
The great (or were they), gigs. Such talent. Then the Bad Company song "Shooting Star" went though my head. Jimi was a Shooting Star, who paid the price. Like many of them did. Interviews with Eric Clapton, Pete Townstead and Keith Richards....this made my night.
Just Wow, my head if full of great music now! 60's music I love you, where has the fire and energy gone.

Date: 2007-05-19 10:11 pm (UTC)I grew up listening to the Yardbirds, Cream, Hendrix, Jeff Beck... Makes me think of the episode in BtVS (Candy Band?) when Giles listens to "Disraeli Gears": I loved that scene :)
