Yes still thinking about "The Long Way Home", and its effects. Behind cut for Spoilers, and a Poll as well.
Ok so we have 1,800 Slayers now, with 500 under the wing of the watchers council. Of the three groups we have seen, it looks like Xander, Giles and Andrew are in the postions of leadership.
Does this have any effect on the Strong Women message for you? It is true that most of these activated Slayers are young women, so may need guidance. While Buffy is based with Xander, they can both be in leadership of the group they have.
While we have only seen three groups so far, so Willow, a powerful witch with as much experience as Xander may have a group, and so could Faith, has not been discussed. So it could still be that women will be in leadership roles, from what we have been given already, it is the men in these roles (and since when did they trust Andrew that much).
All the womem envolved are superpowered, Slayers, Powerful Witch, while the men, and only three so far, are not. Does this make the men special rather than the 500 slayers they are training?
[Poll #1010325]
Ok I am done!
I do seem to have been mulling the Season Eight over for the past couple of days. Guess when other things are happening in RL, the mind does a runner!
I dreamed I wrote two Spike ficlets last night, and was so disappointed when I woke up, and no ficlets! They seemed good in the dream, but of course I can't remember them now!

Date: 2007-06-27 03:38 am (UTC)The fact that Andrew is in charge makes NO SENSE. Other than the fact that they are trusting him way faster than they should he has nothing to offer in ways of leadership. Hell Wesley from Sunnydale with all his faults is by far a better choice than Andrew. Does Giles want these girls to die?

Guess it is still a case of waiting to see.
