Friending Meme at Insane Journal

The fandom seems to be having a move again. I went Permanently Insane over at Insane Journal, as it was only 35 bucks. I was about to creat a poll, then I thought, all the friends I have at IJ I have here as well, in fact loads more. So I will post the Poll here.

I noticed that a new asylum has been created to help people get in contact with others with the same interests here, called friend_me. I joined, but was wondering if I should set up a Whedon oriented one? We all have our own interests in the fandom, and setting up a few posts for us all would end up spamming them. I was thinking we could have a Spangel friends meme, a Spuffy friends Meme, an Angel: After the Fall friends meme, Buffy Season 8 friends meme, firefly friends meme....Kinda just for us? So a poll to see if anyone thinks this is a good idea.

If anyone wants me on IJ I can be found here. It is very basic, with only three posts. But if I get more friends I will make an effort to post more!

Ok I said maybe because frankly I don't know how I feel about all this. I understand the anger about the flagging and I seriously think it's just like censorship. But I have to admit that all these changes have not affected me in the slightest for now. Maybe it's because I have my DOB visible on my userinfo page, maybe it's because I have a friends only journal now, maybe it's because I'm not a writer.... but to me everything it's still the same for now.

That said, I have an IJ where I already have you friended and where I'd love to keep up with my friends who are going there (or thinking to) but I don't know if *I* want to leave. Of course if fandom and friends go, I'll go too... but I really wouldn't want to.

I'm kinda torn about all this...

I know the feeling. I don't want to leave LJ cos all my friends are here, and I am a member of so many communities as well. And keep up with people via the communities as well. I have my niche in LJ, and am very happy with it. I love my friends and would hate to lose them.

I think I will do a wait and see myself. Then if it becomes too difficult to do things on LJ, I guess I would have to leave. That would really annoy me as I have a Permanent account here as well. So not leaving unless they force me to!

But I would also like to make sure I have all my friends on IJ. Just in case!

I clicked "Maybe" because I'm not really seeing the problem with staying on LJ - yet. I have IJ and GJ backups, though I post very infrequently there. I doubt if I'll use them much more unless there's a mass migration. I'm not sure if I've friended you there or not, but I'll go check. As long as the bulk of my friends and comms are here, though, I'm not going.

I didn't feel enough trust to invest in Permanent mebership, though...

I feel much the same, I will stay at LJ, unless it becomes impossible to do the things I want to, and have done in the past. Playing a wait and see game with the new owners. I cannot see them being worse than 6A were.

Maybe we could do a Meme type idea there? A couple of posts for people with like interests in the fandom? That might work, after pimping it a bit maybe?

I thought Spuffy, Spangel, Bangel, Spander, Buffy Season 8 comic and Angel: After the Fall comics. One friending post for each of them. Any others you want to suggest?

Could ask people if they want to post their own friending meme posts as well.

Absolutely. It would be great if it caught on. Maybe one for slash, femslash, het and gen writers/readers? That way everyone's covered.
