Just read an article, well about two sentences, that said they were in negotiations to make James a regular in Smallville. The problem seems to be that James does not want to be away from LA and his family for too long, and they film in Vancouver.

It would be great to see him in a regular show, especially as it is broadcast in Britain, so I am kind of hoping that it happens. He must have made a good impression. I read that at one convention he was asked to describe himself in three words and said "friendly, angry and outgoing all at once". Guess it does sum him up. Must make him a nice guy to meet, never a dull moment.

No, it was Dresden he turned down as being filmed in Toronto and that's why. He is filming Smallville in Vancouver, which is above LA. I think there is a good chance he might take this one.

Thank you, I will just fix that. Glad you pointed it out.

That report seems to be a fusion of a couple of recent items on James. Kristin on E-Online did a short two or three sentence report about there being word about James being in negotiations for a longer stint on SV as a regular. James has said as much in recent Q&A, that they were thinking of having him back on SV, maybe as a different character. And, as [livejournal.com profile] sexymermaid said, he didn't audition for Dresden because it was going to be filmed in TO. SV films in Vancouver which is only a 3 hour flight from LA so more do-able for him in terms of his family.

It would be good if he did, I am looking forward to the film, but sometimes distribution can be a bugger with those projects. I have ordered "Cool Money", as that seems the only way to see it.

I would like him to do some regular TV work.

Me too and a few thousand others. I wish he'd star in something like David Boreanaz has, where he's the main character and there's opportunity for sexy snarking and maybe full on sex with someone. Plus some deeply dramatic character unfoldings. Enough with the guest starrings (though I'll take what I get) and let's see the guy do his thing.

Ok, I guess we may be fangirl types, but I really do think he has the presence and talent to be a leading man. He certainly has the looks, and they are blind if they don't see his sex appeal. There is so many positive aspects to him.

I think they are too busy listening to fortune tellers and "Tall dark and handsome". James has presence with a capital P. That goes a lot further.

According to the reports from the Words and Music performances (were you there? bit of a journey for you but...Jamesonstage!), he was amazing in a role where he could deepen into the character instead of doing little bits of scenes repeatedly as in a TV production. I'd love to see him live on stage. But basically, give me the feed of a regular show that I could get into in the same way as I did Buffy and Angel. Guess they're fated to be my one and only true fan level shows.

I could not make it, the cost of saying in London was a bit much on top of the ticket price. Their is talk of making a DVD of the Words and Music show if the quality is good enough.

I would love to see him in a regular show, but the scope for fanfic of vampires and suchlike, I think, is one of the reasons the Buffy and Angel fanbase has continued. We still have not explored the full imaginative plots available. That is without all the AU fics.

The characters and versatility on offer are also a benefit. Including in the fang gangs case how to bring some back from the dead, or just ignore cannon is a challenge. I am not sure another show would offer as much material.
