Ok I blame this on the pain-killers, but something that always puzzled me about the Fanged Four, Bangel and Spuffy. Darla was dying of Syphilis, then when she came back human, it was killing her again.

Now in cannon she was Angelus's lover. Angelus slept with Drusilla, who slept with Spike. Would they not all be affected? That might not matter as they were vampires, but both Angel and Spike slept with Buffy. Should she not have got infected? Then if anyone Shanshu-ed would it be a death sentence as it was with Darla?

I think the idea is that the syphillis would not survive in her dead tissue until she was 'reanimated' again, and then it would as it would be in a dormant state (which is actually what happens with syphillis. So she would not have infected anyone else while she was a vampire.

At least that's my theory! LOL!
