I just did a quiz to see how friendly to Transgendered people I was, (I go a high score, not surprising, my friend and I went to the pub with a guy who made his living doing drag). I came away thinking of the difference in the sexes wanting to wear clothes of the other sex.

I used to wear Michaels firemans jumper (I shrunk it), and shirts, the boys at work and University would give me their jumpers to wear if I was cold. The only reaction was the other girls getting jealous. The guys thought it was HOT! Only Eric made the comment that none of his clothes would be safe, but still gave me his, very large, jumper to wear when I was cold.

So really, if it is something that women can do, and be thought normal, why not men? Women have been wearing trousers for a long time!

Absolutely. Personally, I'd love to see men wearing a bit more lace ;o)

I think your argument is the one that Eddie Izzard uses regularly. I can't see a problem with swapping clothes, although I think it's far harder for men to get away with it. They also have the difficulty of sizes.

It's a shame because once boy children get past the toddler stage everything starts to become only available in very boring black/brown/green colours, and I love seeing men in bright colours! Boys should be allowed to wear bright shoes and clothes! They do in other countries and no-one bats an eye (Norway/Sweden/Italy etc)

Yes womens sizes are usually too small for men. Still, if they could, I see no reason why not!

You do see all the pretty clothes for girls, and combat clothes for boys, it just isn't fair. Men should be allowed colour!

I've been thinking about this also. It's all about prejudice. But then again, it wasn't *always* appropiate for women to wear trousers, so maybe in a hundred...two hundred years...it will change for men too?

I don't get why anyone would want to wear dressed/skirts...man or woman. XD I'm personally just uncomfortable in it. ;)

I used to wear dresses and skirts, not so much now I have to admit. I guess it is just easier as well for women to wear mens clothes and get away with it, because they are bigger. Women do tend to be smaller!

Maybe, one day

I had two whole outfits based on my husband's sirts, by sister even insisted I wear one of he husbands shirts when I went to vist. Such a difference in attitudes to a man wanting to do the same.
