I do not have a phone so you can call me, and I don't care if you are a charity, to either sell me something, I already have double glazing, I do not need a new kitchen or bathroom, and my house is not suitable for a conservatory. I really wish you would lay off trying to make me feel guilty and giving you money for your charity. I have my own problems, and lack of money is one of them. I have no money to give, and you cannot get blood out of a stone.

I do not have a front door so that you can knock my door and try to get me to change energy suppliers (nor is the phone a good idea for this either), especially not twice in one day.

Could you all please go away, I do not want your products, nor to I want to be tied to the phone for ages, with someone who barely speaks English, for a survey either!

I am sure you all know where I think you should go, and what I think you should do with yourselves!

I get quite a few of them as well, and the ones from India can be annoying. I just lost it when I got two within an hour trying to get me to change my power supply company!

Have you tried registering with a telephone preference scheme? It doesn't get rid of all the pillocks, but it does sort out a lot of them - and mentioning the law:

Under Government legislation introduced on 1st May 1999 and replaced on 11th December 2003 by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, it is unlawful to make unsolicited telesales/marketing calls to individuals who have expressed their wish not to receive such calls.

usually sees off the rest quickly. There's a similar set-up for junk snailmail too. There is no cure for spam that I am aware of, but at least one can delete that without actually reading it.

Good idea Gill, but of course doesn't get rid of them all. The charities get to me a lot, as they do the whole guilt trip!

The final straw was two of them at the door today trying to get me to change power suppliers, within an hour! Maybe I should get a gun!

*hugs* If worse comes to worse for everyone who isn't trying to convert your religion, play them at their own game. If they try and sell you double glazing, try to sell them something back. A friend of a friend of mine used to keep a stack of travel holy books by the door and when anyone tried to sell him something or convert his religion, he played them and tried to do the same back.

With the religious ones, the worse was when they tried to convert me after Micheal died. I got them to give me everything related to the religion, then told them I though their leader had a mental illness if he thought God was talking to him. Haven't been back since!

I hate when I get unsolicited phone calls. And when charities call I demand to know how they got my number since it's unlisted.

It seems at times they come in batches of what they are trying to sell as well, so end up with loads from the same type of companies. None of them wanted either!
