Best Season Final

After doing an edited highlights of Season Three Supernatural last night, I just thought I had been neglecting Buffy and Angel. So a very quick poll!

I guess I should watch some more Buffy and/or Angel to try and get my voices and characters back!

What I loved about it is that it left so many ways fanfic writers could continue the verse. And so many of them do it better than the comic has!

With the exception of Dawn (sorry, I know she's popular but her whining got on every single nerve) and Willow's replacement GF, season 7 was one of my favourites. If they hadn't killed off Tara, it would have been my total favourite. Spike was bloody awesome in season . JM's acting was astonishing.

Oh I didn't think Dawn was too whiny in Season 7, still not keen on her, but I thought she was ok.

I liked "Chosen", warts and all. "Not Fade Away", however, is a masterpiece. It's one of the most powerful and unambiguous endings to a series ever, IMO. Let's see, how do I put it...

"Chosen" ended Buffy the Vampire Slayer, cut the characters (and the audience) loose to live their lives in whatever way they pleased.

"Not Fade Away" made sure Angel never really ended, froze the characters in a moment that captured what the show was about.

Oh so TOTALLY agree! NFA was the very best series close for the characters like Angel. It pulled no punches, and treated the audience like adults!

I chose Buffy because it did close the series while Angel left us wanting to know what came next. Yes, I know we then had the chance to write how we think what happened next for Angel. Thing is knowing what happened in Sunnydale didn't stop anyone from writing fics for those characters. If Buffy had ended at season five with Buffy dying, it would be as bad as how Angel ended. The comics are suppose to tell us what happened next for both series, but many do not read the comics or believe they are canon. I love both canon, alternate universe and original ideas of what came after the stories

I guess with Buffy what holds me back is that Spike died (as did Anya), and was not grieved for. I wasn't happy with that.

While I liked the Angel final because they went out heros, and we could write them as such. How they overcame the odds.

I liked the way Buffy ended much better than Angel. Buffy had an end that fans could continue writing about. Angel just stopped in mid-fight.

I have to admit Dawn wasn't one of my favorite characters, I wanted to smack her everytime she started whining. ( which was about 5 times an episode.)

Although I did enjoy Andrew in Seasons 6 &7.

I was upset with both shows killing off characters that I loved (Anya, Tara, Wes) They could have killed off some minor characters that nobody cared for (kennedy)

I do like Buffy Season 7 myself, I don't knock it like some do. That was why I put up the poll, to see what everyone else thought.

Was not a Dawn fan myself, but thought she was a lot less annoying in Season 7.

Buffy Season 7 killed off Spike, but I guess it doesn't count as he reappeared in Angel Season 5, and was a big hero. I wasn't happy about the lack of grief for Spike on Buffy (including in the comic Season 8), that kind of got to me. Joss does like to kill off much loved characters, no-one is safe from him!

I voted Buffy. I always preferred it over Angel. Angel got better once Spike came on, but I still like Buffy better

I was the opposite, I preferred Angel. I liked more of the characters on Angel, even if Spike is my favourite!
