Summary Wolfram & Hart show an interest in Sam, and send Lindsey to talk to him.
Bit worried about this one, as they both sound FAR too British to me! *sigh*
Dean was out, probably getting beer, fast food and information. Sam sat in front of his lap top, under the dim window, when there was a knock at the door. It took Sam by surprise. Angels and Demons usually just walked it, and the cheap motels they stayed in didn’t have maid service at this time of the day.
As Sam opened the door, he saw the man standing there in an expensive suit, expensive haircut, and briefcase in hand. He looked up at Sam, as his eyes took in the clothes which probably came from Wal-mart or charity shops, and smirked!
“My name is Lindsey McDonald, and I have a proposition for you. My card.” He walked confidently passed Sam, as Sam looked at the business card.
“Wolfram & Hart? What sort of proposition would they have for me?”
“We have been very interested in one Sam Wincester for some time. Following your progress at Stanford, we were most disappointed that you didn’t attend Law School, but for us that is not a problem.” Lindsey looked round, finally sitting at the seat Sam had vacated.
“Why would a Law firm be interested in me now? I’m not exactly prime material any more.”
“Oh let us say that we find you very interesting, and think that working for us might offer you benefits beyond just getting back to a normal life, well paid and ambitions. We have some interesting contracts which you might want to look over, maybe even find a way to get someone out of them.”
“You are a year late, and anyway what sort of law firm would deal in the sort of contacts you are talking about. How do you even know about them.”
“Wolfram & Hart has a very diverse cliental, who we are happy to work with.”
“What is this, some sort of a deal? If you know so much then you should know what happened, and that I’m not as interested in breaking deals at present.”
“Oh you want to tell me you are happy to be at the beck and call of every Angel and Demon who threatens to send your brother back to Hell Sam?”
Sam watched Lindsey as he sprawled out on the chair, a confident smile playing on his face.
“Why would you help us?”
“We are always on the look out for young talented people, and you have many talents we are very interested in.”
“What talents, been a few years since I left Stanford.”
“Oh but that is not a problem, we will soon have you up to speed, and pay you well in the process. This is a career move Sam, and one you have not been offered in a long time. In fact the chance of a career.”
Sam turned the card over in his hand, the situation with Dean was still unresolved, and they both knew that at any time Dean could be send back to Hell.
“What sort of deal are you offering, will it protect Dean?”
“Oh it is no deal Sam, it is an offer of employment, with fringe benefits of working in contracts, breaking certain ones.”
“So I could break Dean’s contract, and the threat of him being sent back to Hell would be over?”
“Yes Sam, you could, and a few other contracts as well. You have no idea of the interesting paper trails you could track down and break. You could be in a nice comfortable office, with a flat to go home to at night, and still do more than you are at present on the road with your brother, taking orders from Angels and Demons.”
“So who would I be taking orders from? There is always someone.”
“Yes we do have a chain of command, but it would be beneficial to you. I’m sure you could do more good at Wolfram & Hart than you are at present.”
“What I still don’t understand is why you are so interested in me. What do you want from me that you are willing to offer these to help me break Dean’s contract, and do my own thing.”
“Oh Sam, you are not doing your own thing, it is exactly what we want you to do, we know about the plans for an apocalypse, and where you fit in. We want to make sure it doesn’t happen, and one way to do that is to have you working for us to stop it.”
“Sounds very noble, but why should I believe you?”
“Oh we have our reasons, this is something that must be avoided, and you are key. This is why we want you working for us.”
“So what to I have to do?”
“Just agree to our offer of employment, and sign a very favourable contract of employment. We guarantee you will have nothing to worry about from Angels and Demons ever again.”

Date: 2009-01-12 03:50 am (UTC)Yes, Lindsey in particular was too British. I blame David's family, as they are lawyers, and I get their voices rather than the characters ones!
It would be sort of good to have them all together. I hope someone else does it though, as I think my drawback is knowing so many British Lawyers!
