Was at my friends for lunch today, and had some red wine. I know not to everyone's taste, but this smelt delishious, and tasted just as good! Chilean Carmenere, from the co-ops Fair trade range.

Ok so you get a reasonable bottle of red wine (75cl, so pretty standard) at £3.99, and not only get to enjoy it with your meal, but also get to help others.

"The Co-op Fair Trade Chilean range originates from the Los Robles Co-operative in The Curico Valley, Chile, which was set up by local farmers after a devastating earthquake in 1939 killed 10,000 people. Fair Trade accreditaion was gained in 2004, since when the committee has focused funds primarily on the following

Education
We are funding English courses and higher education grants fo childern and workers in Los Robles.

Housing
Urgent repairs and extentions are needed for many of the basic adobe homes which are often too small for the large families who live in them.

Sustainability
We are helping farmers to bay vines so that they can plant new vineyards, whilst vitculturalists at Los Bobles are advising the growers on their first harvest, the fruits of which may one day make our wine.

And it tastes bloody billiant!
