Memories

James Marsters annoucement bout staring in "Moonshot" has brought back memories for me. I was eight (James would be about 5), and my mom was looking after my Gran. It was just my dad and me, as it usually was when my Dad was at home (he was working at grangemouth, and stayed at home during the course of that job. Usually we only saw him on weekend in four as he worked away from home as an engineer around the whole of the UK. He was offered a VERY high paid job in Saudi Arabia, but, my mom didn't want to take me there, and he wouldn't go without us...anyway back to the story). It was my dad and me, late morning watching the first moon walk. We were both speechless as we saw humans on the moon, walking, just being there! It was amazing. Really watching a bit of progressive history.

My family, Mom, Dad, Uncles, Sister and Gran lived through history, WWII and in my Gran and uncles case WWI, my mom was a born at the end of WWI, to watch progressive history, something positive like someone walking on the moon Well I know my Dad was awed, so was I. I sat, with my head on my Dad's shoulder, watching a human walk on the moon. *sigh*

We had watched the progress to the moon. We held our breath at them coming back, would they make it, would these men survive. We didn't breath until they were safe.

Thank you for reminding me James. It was a great moment in history I lived through!

I don't mean Angel or Spike, but in general, what do you think of vampires. Are they a Classic creature of horror myth? Or what

A) Vampires are savage killing machines, whose only purpose is to drain humans and kill them.

B) Vampires are Seductive killers, who lure their prey with sexy charm,

C) Vampires have been cursed to kill, roaming the world looking for lost love.

D) Vampires faces do not change, they only have fangs to give themselves away looking at them.

E) They cannot be seen in mirrors, go out in daylight, pass running water, and are repealed by crosses and garlic.

F) They have a long history, full of myth and tradition. They belong in family groups, such as Dracula and his brides.

G) They sleep in coffins, and it is possible to kill them when they are asleep with a wooden stake.

H) Vlad the Impaler sold his soul to become a vampire, starting the myth, because his wife killed herself, he still searches for her.

Just a short list. Anything else about Vampires that you can think off? Why do they fascinate people? What is it about them that has led to so many vampire books, films and TV series? Has any other creature of horror captured your imagination to the same extent that they have?
