Been reading some Meta, and it has got me thinking about redemption in BtVS and how Faith, Willow and Andrew are treated, more some musing rather than anything deep and meaningful. This maybe because I finished what I was to do today early, it was shorter than expected. So has left me with time on my hands to ponder such things.

Not helped by the fact I have heartburn as well. I have been avoiding spicy food, but failed to make it to the shops yesterday, so ending up making chicken in a peppercorn sauce tonight.....hence the heartburn.

I was thinking about the various arguements that Willow was forgiven too easily for her act of killing (or then again maybe not), Warren. Or that Xanders actions in summoning Sweet (or the arguement that he took the fall for Dawn), was never mentioned again, despite the deaths. Another one is Andrew, now a trusted member of the Scoobies, his wise(?), counsel being followed, after he had killed Jonathon, and been part of the Trio in Season 6.

Comparing this with the treatment of the AtS team, and how hard redemption is for them. If they do anything wrong they have to almost die, be ostersised, and tortured before allowed back into the gang. Even then their past actions are cast up to them, and never fully forgiven. this led me to think about the difficulties the AtS team faced, and the relative ease with which the BtVS team overcame any lapses.

It maybe that in fighting at Chosen, they are then forgiven any lapses? If so, how many times in AtS do they have to fight Evil to be forgiven?
