I must confess, I have "No Future For You" parts 3 and 4, but have not read them. It almost feels like, in Buffy Season 8, if there is something I would HATE to see, that is what happens. I just don't want to read them in case I really do dispise what they do to Faith. I have not read spoilers for them either. I know Bad Buffy Fan, but it is almost as if they are stripping them of everything that I love about the character development, that Geogres Jeanty has drawn them as years younger than they are, and they have made them into malajusted teenagers again. That they have not grown from where they left them, and instead have regressed.

With Faith, if they take away her redemption, and fight to continue it, I may start a bonfire with all the comics in protest! I wish she was with Angel, as that is more of a theme in A:ts.

The past couple of days I have been on a Supernatural kick, watching all of Season One again, even rewatching favourite episodes. Really enjoyed that, but the Wincest is not happening for me at all. I can see the RPS, BIG style, when I see the two actors together, just not the Wincest. Then maybe that is my hang-up!

Been re-reading some favourite fanfic as well. I am word perfect on them, but still keep going back. As it is Christmas, I think I will go and read some more of [livejournal.com profile] lilithbint's Christmas stories at The Crypt The Link Is Here.

ETA Read them now, may do a review later, after I get some sleep.

To say the truth, I'm not that impressed with the art in both BtVS and AtS. BtVS tends to be a bit too cartoonish. AtS has the characters without expressions (something BtVS' art is better than AtS' at) as well as drawing the body angle of women's bodies (like the way Nina was drawn as she talked to Angel and the way Illyria's body looked while holding Angel). Thankfully, though, art isn't why I'm reading these comics. :)

I think face wise, the characters in BtVS comics look really good. Willow looks exactly like Willow IMO, especially S6 Willow. Xander actually looks more adult than Nicholas Brendon (face wise), Nick has boyish features, Xander in the comics doesn't. Except in #10 because the artist is different. Dawn and Giles look really good in Jeanty's art, Jeanty is the only artist that got Giles right. Buffy is the only one IMO who looks younger, but then again, she gained some weight, her face is fuller, that got to make her look youngish. Moreover, they're all young. It's not like they're 60 *wink*

I've seen lots of 24 year olds who look really like kids. All the BtVS actors in S1 were in their 20s, except Sarah who was 19. And look at how young they looked. Nicholas Brendon was 26 in S1 and he successfully passed for 16.

The one which really gets me is Buffy, it is not that she looks young, with how he has drawn the head, she looks childish. The problem with Buffy being the biggest grip is she is the main character. Jo Chen's covers are fantastic, and have captured her image, which means that the oversize head inside by Jeanty is even worse.

Xander does look good, and Giles is not bad, again when Jo Chen is doing them. I know her covers allow her more time to capture a good likeness rather than doing a lot of panels as well.

I got used to Urru's work via Asylum and Shadow Puppets, so I like it. I also prefer the darker tones to Angel: After the Fall as well. Then I did perfer that with the series as well.
