Supernatural Season Four

Just some thoughts on Supernatural Season Four as a whole. Should say I was totally unimpressed with the latest exposide, and may colour my view.


Seems a little like Season One, but with Dean being the one with the problems eating and sleeping because of his feelings and secrets. It just isn't working out as well as Season One. I feel Kripke is paying too much attention to the fandom, and fan base. this is having a depremental effect on the writing. Maybe he should stay away from the internet, or take a leaf out of Joss' book and "Give us what we need, not what we want", really.

The fan pandering can be worrysome at times. My biggest worry is Castiel, due to the fanbase he's gotten.

Yes, Castiel is a worry. I want to got back to more brother moments, which we are not getting this year at all. The last to episodes, Sam is just sitting there, doing nothing.

I definitely feel like something's definitely been off. It kind of seems like they're alienating the fans who've been around from the beginning in order to pander to new people. Maybe I'm just bitter....

Maybe I am getting bitter as well. It seems to be losing the main focus of the two brothers to me, and I don't like it!

You know, the comment Mike made to me as soon as the episode ended was "So Dean is becoming Angel?" Problem with Angel was exactly that isolation from others.

Yes, I can see that. It worked better with Angel the Series because he had others round him. That might've highlighted his isolation at times, but he didn't have to carry the whole show by himself. It just doesn't have enough depth as a storyline to work, without and ensemble cast to help carry some of the episodes.
