Import From Livejournal

Going to do an import from Livejournal for this month's posts. Let me know if any of it in any way interfers with your reading list!

It's done. No real problems this end, except that I have a few double entires, so let me know if anyone did get problems from my import.

I imported my LJ journal when I first set up my journal page here. Can we import post by the date or just the entire content of our LJ journal to dreamwidth.

I know we can cross post from dreamwidth to LJ as we post here. Are we able to post on LJ and import that single post to dreamwidth?

Well it importt from the date of the last import, Trying to do it a post at a time could be time comsuming, which is why I'm doing it once a month.

I did the import and it worked. Like you, it did double up on some posts that were created on dreamwidth and then cross posted to LJ. At least now I will be able to just post on LJ and then import to dreamwidth. Not sure if I will do it once an month or daily. Guess it depends on what I post. I don't post each day so maybe just each time I post. So much to learn.

Ohe advantage of posting once a month is to save replies as well on DW

DW appropriately backdates imported content so it doesn't come up on other's reading page in a big lump or anything, everything should be fine.

Yes, I was pleased with the results, and does seem to be fine on others reading llists as well.
