Well David has phoned back. He seems fine now, we had a very noisey line, and it was a bit hard for him to hear me. He was at The Balloch Hotel, not far from me, and it was busy. He isn't driving at present, which is a good thing, as he has gone quite high. He is getting some sleep, but not really enough. I just hope he can manage to stay out of hospital.

Please keep your fingers crossed that David will be well soon, and that he will recover, with the help of the tablets, without intervention!

Well David and Ronnie are coming over later today. Ronnie is up to "Heart" in watching Supernatural, which I think David will enjoy. At least the Sam and Madison scenes anyway. I mean his favourite BtVS scene is the Buffy and Spike against a wall, with the building disintergrating round them. So this should be just his cup of tea.

Which got me thinking about the love scenes with Sam, and the others with Dean. JA just doesn't seem to put any effort into them. He kind of just stands there. The most aminated he got was hugging Sam in "All Hell Breaks Loose Part II". Yeah I know that JP and JA get on very well (any wonder I read RPS with the two of them), but in the programme he is a little....unamimated. Maybe that is just me then!

Then I do like JP's body type. Long limbs and hands, and very slim. Micheal was like that, he was 6' 4" and as did an exboyfriend who was 6' 9". So that might just be what I go for!

David and I had a good laugh tonight. Before David got here, he told me tha he had been interviewed by two very professional people with a TV like camera.

I switched on the Scottish news on BBC1, and the second topic was CO2 emissions, what was what David was interviewed on. A survey said that most people didn't know the CO2 emissions their car gave of. Of course there was David, with his assertive, firm reply to whither he knew the CO2 emissions from his car....."I have no idea".....end interview. A whole two and a half seconds, but we laughed about it all night. I know, doesn't take much!

At least David proved the survey right, and he might not know about the subject, but his car is one of the ones that are low. So he is doing something right!

I really am not the obsessive LJ user I used to be, when I would read, look at and comment to the stories and manips almost constantly. Then LJ (and fandom), was shiny and new, and became my main hobby. Could be any number of reasons for this I guess. The comics being one. Loving the Angel: After the Fall (and of course Spike is in that one), but hating the Buffy Season Eight doesn't help. Then that some of my favourite authors have either left fandom totally, or moved on.

The authors moving on is great, if I happen to be interested in the same fandom. But even then, no other fandom has quite captured me like the Buffy!Verse, and no other character is as close to my heart as Spike. So I may dip my toe in those fandoms, and read the odd story (with SPN mostly Gen or Crossovers), I do not see myself as getting a lot of new friends in the fandom. Same with Dr Who and Torchwood. So I guess that not only am I not as active in fandom, but not as active on LJ either. Guess for me the two went hand in hand.

David was supposed to be here today, but his brother is in the area, and his brother's knee is playing up. They are talking of doing a partial or full knee replacement if it gets more painful. Looks increasingly likely. This will be a blow for Tom, as he does a lot of driving as a solicitor, specialising in guns, mostly for gameskeepers at the estates. If he gets the knee replacement, he will be unable to drive for several months.

Right, so off to read some favourite fanfic from aforementioned authors, then see what happens on Dr Who tonight!

Been Quiet

Not a lot been happening here. David got out of hospital, and hopes to start driving again this weekend, and I should see Ronnie tomorrow. Apart from that, very quiet. No muse either, so no stories to post.

Tami has been making manips again, One of Drusilla and One of Fred. If you would like to go over and encourage her the pictures are here

Goes back to boring life!

Gift?

David decided to give me a gift last week of some M&S Cheese Straws, most of which he ate before he arrived, and proceded to finish of the remaining ones while he was here.

This week he brought grapes. He had half of them eaten before he arrived, but did leave me the other half. Progress I guess!

lol! Just as well each of them was a surprise, and I was not waiting in expectation.

David has been in hospital for the past ten days or so. He went on a self-mangagement course for his Manic Depression, and afterwards went Manic. They are reviewing his medication at present, and want to keep an eye on him.

I did advise him not to go on this course, as he doesn't really react well to being with a group of people. There was also someone else going who we know is a bully, and likes bullying David. But of course David knew best. I haven't seen him in a couple of weeks now, but he phones frequently.

He phoned about half an hour ago, but was interrupted to get his medication. Wanting to phone me later, he was slightly surprised at my lack of interest. As his calls mainly consist of who in the ward is annoying him, and his mood, I am a more than a little bored. He is also spending lots of money on CD's (which, when he comes down, he will regret), because music makes him high. Which he doesn't need to get any higher than he is just now, and irritated.

Oh well, looks like I can look forward to another boring phone call later on today, full of his woes with the other patients. He of course is doing nothing wrong!

Ok, I have agreed to see David tomorrow, am I really anti-social in that I am considering putting him off so I can watch some TV programmes? What are these programmes that sound so good that you would want to discourage your friend? AH! UM!

5.30 River Cottage

6.55 The Culture Show

8.15 The Dead Sea Scrolls

I know he will not watch any of them with me, cos, well, they would not appeal to him, and as a guest.....not really fair to inflect it on him. Anyway, I would probably be cooking and eating during two of them.

I could just phone him up, and put him off till Sunday. Don't think I can say it is because I want to watch TV programmes. But my head cold is still there. It is just not too bad, I could see him.

I know, I am anti-social!

Peace.

Got tomorrow sorted out, after one slightly heated phone call. I told David I didn't want him here while Torchwood was on. He said he wouldn't bother coming over to see me at all. I said ok.

He also maintained that he could cope, and not make any comments. Bringing out his pro-homosexual creditials. I maintained that I didn't want any comments at all during the programme. He went off in a huff, and we finished the phonecall.

About 10 minutes later David phoned back. The result is that he is coming over tomorrow, but leaving at 8:30. Sounds like we have a deal!

Oh David!

Sorry if the Squee about Torchwood on Wednesday seems to have died a death on this journal. The reason being, David is angling to come over and visit me on that day. So you are wondering what is the problem, someone to share the excitment with. No so.

I just cannot face the inevitable homophobic comments he will make. The idiot thinks he is open minded, but is frightened of the whole scene, he also doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. Ok so no problem, just don't see him that day you are saying. That would be easier if I hadn't put off seeing him, and a visit to his friends for a meal, today. Yes I know maybe I should've went with him today, but I really couldn't face travelling to Largs, with the visit to the Marina that it would entail. David loves marinas, fits his self image. I find them over-priced and gaudy. While looking at a few boats bobbing in the water gets old fast.

Well I get my medication on Wednesday, and he likes to come with me to make sure I am ok, as it tends to make me tired. So I should see him early, about 2pm, so I might be able to get him to leave at about 7 or 8 pm. Leaving me free to watch my lovely Captain John in peace, without any stupid comments.

As I said, I was up at 4:30 am this morning, so I was having a little bit of a nap, and a great dream about Angel: After the Fall when David phoned. He had already phoned today, so this phonecall was just to ask why his video tape had got stuck. How the hell was I supposed to know? It is not like he lives round the corner, but 20 miles away! *sigh*

Any way thought I would tell you my After the Fall dream as well, behind a cut for spoilers.

Of course then David phoned and woke me up!

Oh Dear!

David must be the most indecisive man in creation. Yesterday he went to his Uncle's funeral in Rothsay on the Isle of Bute. His Uncle was ill for a while, and had been in hospital for a few months. He was 92, so the family had been expecting him to pass on for a while now.

I had encouraged him to go, and take his car over as well. It is expensive to take a car over to the islands on the ferry service, but he is expecting an inheritance from the sale of his Uncle's flat, and I pointed out that would more than cover it. The family all got on well, and it was a good send of for the Uncle. He was a Church of Scotland Minister, and some of the other Ministers who remembered him spoke about his time with them. He has a rather nice plot to be buried into as well. It overlooks Arran, across the water.

David then phoned me to ask if he could come and see me, to miss the rush hour in Glasgow. That sounded reasonable, as it was about 4 o'clock. I thought he was back on the mainland.

About 1 hour and 15 minutes he phones back to say he is on his way, that was 5:15pm. I pointed out to him that if he drove home at that point he would miss the rush hour in Glasgow, but if he came here, he would be in the middle of a rush hour in Dumbarton, with everyone who works in Glasgow coming home.

I also pointed out that I didn't want him staying late. In fact I had intended for him to leave at 7pm. Which would've meant he was only here for half an hour, and was it worth it. He kind of went round in circles after that, so I asked him what he wanted to do. He took so long answering that I just said he might as well go home.

Today he phoned, we see each other every Saturday, to say he was going into Glasgow. I asked him to get the ingredients for one of our favourite meals. Start of him asking what he should buy, and what should he buy if they didn't have certain things.

In the end I asked him if he wanted that meal, to go out for a meal, Pasta or something else. Of course he has no idea. So I guess it will be up to me, at least I get what I want.

And my comics haven't arrived yet! Damn postal strike. I just hope it has got as far as the local sorting office.

ETA Yesterday I was not getting my replies to posts, now my main e-mail keeps getting errors! Communication problems or what!

So I just watched "Nottinghill Gate" on Channel 4 with David. He insisted on watching it. The whole time I was going, yes saw that on "Four Weddings and a Funerel", "Oh here comes the one night stand again, wait for the blow up". But well I liked it.

Don't know where David head is tonight...maybe he is feeling lonely and the female friend he gets on best with is me. Anyway, he started to talk about how he wanted someone in his life......we have never even kissed, just a hug when we leave each other at night. That someone is me it seems, he has been more intimate with his other female "Friends", but no, now that he wants to spend more time with someone it seems it is me he wants. I explained that I would end up ignoring him to be on the computer, but he said he would just read a book. What do I do about him! Really so uninterested.
