I did some polls a couple of years ago, but my friends list has changed so much since then, I wonder if I should perhaps do it again. The people who comment are different, others have moved into different fandoms, and I have also friended a few people in the Supernatural fandom. I am considering friending some people in the Torchwood fandom as well, but not Doctor Who, I will stick to the friends I already have in that fandom.

Taking these things into consideration, I think I should redo the polls that would appeal to more than the Buffy!Verse, which a couple were very Buffy!Verse centric, such as the shipping one. Don't think I will do the kinks one again either.....or if I do, maybe I should post it to [livejournal.com profile] nekid_spike rather than here.

I'm just not sure. The characterisation one would be multi-fandom, but wonder how many of you read fanfic anymore. Everywhere I look, comments seem to be dropping off for writers, even in the new fandoms. I know I am not reading as much new stories myself, and in the newer fandoms I have an interest in, have gone back to lurk mode mostly. I know I am not reading many multi-chaptered stories either. I feel I have wrapped myself up in older fanfic that I really love, and keep going back to. Like a security blanket.

Oh Dear!

I think I will have to hand in my "Joss Fan" badge. I'm not enjoying the Season Eight comic, I am totally bored with all the hype at Whedonesque for "Dollhouse", and was never that big a "Firefly" fan. Which kind of leaves me with Angel: After the Fall, my Angel constantly watched box set, and my love of Spike. Of course I still love James Marsters to bits, and isn't he looking good :-)

None of which is inspiring me to write anything in the verse, and what ideas I do get Supernatural has made itself known. Still trying to get my crossover down in words. I suspect I might have to go back to the old fashioned way of writing it down on paper first, before typing it up, so I can play with it a bit.

So related to this I am not surprised my friends List isn't growing, and I may indeed be getting defriended. Cos well, not writing, don't do manips, icons or banners, and in a flux as far as fandoms go.

I mean I watch Dr Who, Supernatural and Torchwood, but don't really post about them. Not even any halfway decent reviews (my bad). Or join any forums, communities etc for fear of spoilers. I even stopped buying the "Radio Times". While I have plot bunnies for Supernatural, I have zero for Dr Who or Torchwood. Anyway I doubt the majority of my friends would be interested in them *sigh*

Goes back to read Angel: After the Fall, while considering whither to squander money on the #1 Directors Cut edition.....after all I am not buying the Supernatural comic, after how bad the "Origins" one was!

ETA I keep getting errors when I try to get my e-mails. I can blame Virgin Media this time!

ETA #2 Ordered After the Fall #1 Director's Cut.....Comic Book Guy says it is stunning!

"Worksafe" and "Not Worksafe" are such subjective terms. I mean, take a place I worked at, while I was doing office work to help Michael get his degree, after he had to leave the fire brigade due to Medical Grounds.

We had a girl with very strong crush on a boy at the site. She was well developed, so I said I would get Michael to do a picture of nude female breasts, which we could tape to the window, and she could pose behind them as he went to get lunch at the bottom of the hill.

Michael did the picture, which everyone was surprised about, as they didn't believe he would, we taped it to the window, and the girl posed behind it, as the guy who stole her heart went to get lunch.

Anyone get into trouble for that? No, in fact one of the managers took the picture, and taped it to his wall!

So I might be a bit open minded about what is worksafe!

I'm still waiting for #9, and will not be reading #8 until it arrives. But just been thinking about what I have reflected on from The Long Way Home and The Chain.

Spoilers for The Long Way Home and The Chain )

Just my rambling thoughts
